Mahagujarat Movement: History, Reasons & 1956 Reorganization Explained

 Mahagujarat Movement  The Dhar Commission in June 1948 and the JVP Committee in December 1948 rejected the demand for a language-based state. Vakunidhar is a small but very holy village located in Khambha Taluka of Amreli district of Gujarat. This village is famous not only for its peaceful atmosphere, but also for the Panchmukhi Hanumanji Temple and Radha-Krishna Temple located here.

Both these temples are not only religious centers, but are a living symbol of faith, devotion and humanity for the devotees of this area.

Vakunidhar village is located about 2 km from Ingorala village and about 3 km from Kotda village. As soon as you enter the village, you can feel the atmosphere of devotion and peace.

History of Panchmukhi Hanumanji Temple

The most famous place in Vakunidhar is — Panchmukhi Hanumanji Temple.

This temple is years old and the five-faced form of Hanumanji Maharaj is worshipped here, which is a symbol of power, devotion and protection.

According to local belief, this place has become a big pilgrimage site today due to the blessings of Shri Rambalkadas Bapu and his disciple Karunanidhandas Bapu.

Due to Bapu's service spirit and loving nature, thousands of devotees come here regularly for darshan.

His gentle and loving behavior gives every devotee a homely feeling, due to which the fame of this place is continuously increasing.

The architectural style of this temple is also wonderful. As soon as you enter the temple, the five-faced form of Hanumanji Maharaj gives you a feeling of amazing power and devotion. Devotees believe that darshan here removes all the sorrows and obstacles of life.

Religious programs and festivals

This temple remains alive with religious activities throughout the year.

 Every Saturday, Hanuman Chalisa is recited, in which devotees from the village and surrounding villages gather and worship Hanumanji.

 On the day of Hanuman Jayanti, a huge Dhuwada Bandh dinner is organized here. People from 6–7 surrounding villages eat together, which the devotees consider as the mercy of Hanumanji Maharaj.

Every 7 years, “Mahan Saptaha” is also organized, in which devotees not only from Amreli district but from all over Gujarat attend. During this week, many religious activities like Bhajan, Kirtan, Pravachan and Prasad distribution are organized.

Approximately 7000 to 8000 devotees are present here during this week, due to which a festive feeling spreads in the village.

Radha-Krishna Temple – A symbol of love and devotion

The Radha-Krishna Temple is located near the Panchamukhi Hanumanji Temple, which is another spiritual identity of Vakunidhar village.

The atmosphere of this temple is very peaceful and devotional.

Seeing the wonderful forms of Radha and Krishna here creates a feeling of peace and love in the mind of the devotee.

Aarti is performed every morning and evening, and special programs are organized here especially on the day of Janmashtami. Devotees perform bhajans and kirtans, light lamps and the entire village becomes joyful.

This temple is not only a place for worship, but has also become a way for the youth of the village to learn customs and manners.

Fun and gathering for families

The Vakunidhar temple premises is not only an excellent place for devotion, but also for enjoying with the family.

There are various rides for children like swings, slides, toys etc. here, so that children can enjoy devotion while playing.

For this reason, a crowd of devotees and families is seen here every Saturday and Sunday.
