Prem Mandir Vrindavan, also known as the Temple of Divine Love, stands as one of the most majestic and spiritually rich temples in Vrindavan, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Prem Mandir, located in Vrindavan, Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, is a living symbol of spirituality and magnificent architecture. The temple was founded by Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji Maharaj in 2001 and was inaugurated on 17 February 2012. This stunning temple has attracted devotees from all over the world. Over a period of about 11 years, more than 1000 artists created this masterpiece. It is currently managed by Jagadguru Kripalu Parishad—a global spiritual and educational organization.
The architecture of the temple is its biggest feature. The entire temple is made of Italian white Sangraham marble, which appears to shimmer in the sunlight. The height of the temple is 125 feet and it is spread over an area of 54 acres. On its walls, scenes from the life of Lord Krishna—Jhulan Leela, Govardhan Leela, Raas Leela and victory over Kaliya Nag—are depicted in the form of vivid carvings. In the evening, the temple is illuminated with ample lighting and its divine aura mesmerizes the tourists.
The most famous of the unique attractions of the Prem Mandir is the musical fountain show. This show, which combines water and light with devotional hymns every evening, gives a unique experience to the visitors. At night, the entire temple is illuminated with colorful lights, making it one of the best places for photography. A large satsang hall is being constructed here, which will have a seating capacity of about 25,000 people.
The temple is open for darshan from 5:30 am to 12:00 pm, while darshan can be done from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Entry is free. The fountain show is held from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM in winter and from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM in summer.
Located in the heart of Vrindavan, this temple is just 12 km from Mathura Junction railway station. It is about 150 km from Delhi, from where it can be easily reached by road, rail and air.
The temple premises are adorned with beautiful gardens, fountains and scenes of various pastimes of Lord Krishna. Walking around in the peaceful atmosphere here gives one a feeling of spiritual peace.
Tourists are allowed to take photographs here, which is not the case in many other temples in Vrindavan. Facilities like parking, storage space and a canteen for food are available in the temple premises.
The festivals celebrated at the Prem Mandir make it even more popular. During festivals like Janmashtami, Radha Ashtami and Diwali, the temple comes alive with special aartis, bhajan programmes and cultural activities. The splendor and devotion of the temple are amazing on these days.
